The Advance Now Strategy has Launched!

On April 25, Thrive launched the final Advance Now Strategy before a capacity crowd of 300+ community and business leaders, elected officials, and citizens from across the Madison Region. Based on an eight-month development process that included extensive economic research and stakeholder input, the Advance Now Strategy is comprehensive, actionable blueprint that will guide the region’s collective economic development efforts from 2013-2017.

The Strategy focuses on tangible outcomes within five goal areas:

  • Advance Economic Competitiveness
  • Advance Human Capital
  • Advance Innovation & Entrepreneurship
  • Advance the Madison Region’s Story
  • Advance Regional Cooperation, Leadership and Diversity

These strategic goal areas include key action items such as retaining and growing existing businesses, creating new partnerships that integrate local businesses into education and workforce training, and increasing access to capital needed for business start-ups.

Advance Now will be executed by Thrive and implementation partners from the region’s public- and private-sectors. Thrive will be assembling workgroups this summer, and interested individuals and organizations are encouraged to hear about more specific initiatives planned for the next one to five years.
